In accordance with the decisions of the Tenth Conference of the Parties (COP10) on biological diversity and to mark its commitment to biodiversity, the Government of Niger has adopted a National Strategy and Action Plan on Biological Diversity (SNPA/DB) which has just been revised. Although it is the fundamental support for survival and the majority of Nigerien populations derive their income from its exploitation, biodiversity unfortunately continues to erode despite the efforts made at the national and international levels.
